Daring Greatly, by Brene Brown may not seem like a “business book” on the surface but in my opinion, it’s foundational for anyone who is working alongside of others in an organization, for profit or otherwise.

I read this book a couple of years back and found it to be transformative, much like everything else I’ve consumed from Brene.

The first few chapters lay a brilliant and easy to understand foundation of what vulnerability is. Brene explains tough to tackle concepts such as shame, guilt and fear to the reader. Fast forward to Chapter 6 and she talks specifically about the workplace. What she’s found is that there is a lack of feedback in organizations and gives her recommendation on how to provide feedback in a constructive way. Brene includes helpful tools like the Feedback Checklist (that I’ve nicknamed the Check Yo’self Checklist) and The Leadership Manifesto for people to use in their quest to leading with more courage and vulnerability.

Lastly, the final chapter discusses parenting. While we don’t talk about parenting much, I know that many of you are parents. So, if you read the book and get a little nugget for that aspect of your life, then by all means!

I hope you enjoy the book review and ultimately pick up and read (or listen to) Daring Greatly, by Brene Brown.  Buy it HERE.

Thank you so much for watching! See you again very soon!
